Vessel General Permit
Under US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules, operating equipment (where oil-to-sea discharges are possible) on vessels frequenting US waters must use bio-degradable lubricants or have a Vessel
General Permit (VGP) in place.
Operators can request a letter from us regarding their vessel status to meet VGP requirements.
